Evan Silver and David Weinstock create for Sucks Skateboards
July 12, 2004 -- Evan Silver and David Weinstock have worked on and off as partners for the last eight years. They met at Margeotes Fertitta & Partners where David was the Design Director and Evan was a Sr. Art Director. Both have a wide array of agency background experience along with pursuing the Sucks project.
Evan and David's work for Sucks Skateboards has been showcased in many publications including the prestigious line of books, Street Graphics New York by Barry Dawson, Skateboard Art, and NY Graf. David and Evan have also received recognition in PRINT Magazines Regional Design Annual "Excellence in Design" award for the past two years running. With a brand new ad campaign in the works, new decks and tee's being designed and a new website about to launch both Evan and David expect to get there message out there.
Evan Silver is an art director who had worked at both traditional and non-traditional advertising agencies. Most notably, MTV Networks, where he created the well known Celebrity Skin TV campaign, is starring notorious rocker, Courtney Love. Evan has also created award-winning work for Vogue, The Sundance Channel, Quiksilver, ESPN, Acclaim Video Games and The Independent Film Channel.
Evan has also been credited with creating one of skateboarding's biggest catch phrases in the past few years, "Arrest Me. I Skateboard."
David Weinstock, a graduate of Pratt Institutes returns to his home of 16 years, New York City. David has recently completed a three-year stint in Minneapolis as Campbell Mithun's Director of Design, SVP, and founder of CM's multi-award winning brand integration group. David has received awards and creative recognition from the American Institute Of Graphic Arts, Graphic Design USA, Print Magazine, Adweek and Broadcast Designers Association.
As a designer/art director Weinstock has worked at M&Co, Chiat Day, McCann Erickson, Wells BDDP and others. Weinstock has recently taken a Creative Director position at Crossroads Television to apply his talents to the film and broadcast environment.
